Like its mesh-backed forerunner, Liberty, the Diffrient World chair's tri-panel backrest hugs the body to provide tailor-made lumbar support, while its mesh seat eliminates contact stress under the thighs. But Diffrient World’s major innovation is its mechanism-free recline action, which leverages two parts of the chair’s frame and the laws of physics to provide automatic, balanced support throughout the full range of recline. No chair is more intuitive, creating the ultimate user-friendly sitting experience.

1. Can the Diffrient World chair be ordered with adjustable arms?
Yes, the Diffrient World chair currently comes with fixed arms, adjustable arms, and an armless model.

2. Why is non-stretch mesh preferable to stretchy mesh? Wouldn't stretchy mesh be more comfortable?
A single panel of stretchy mesh pulled tight around a frame cannot be contoured to the shape of the human back, and therefore cannot provide adequate lumbar support. This leads to discomfort over time. Non-stretch mesh displaces instead of stretches, and provides support for users of all sizes.

3. Are the mesh textiles for the Diffrient World chair gentle on clothing?
Each of our mesh textiles was specifically designed to be gentle on your clothes. Unique to our industry, Humanscale performs a reverse Wyzenbeek test on all of our mesh textiles to ensure that they will not damage clothing. We look at how our mesh abrades three different clothing textiles compared to a standard #10 cotton duck as the abradent. These results show that our mesh textiles are far gentler on your clothing than cotton duck.

5. Can a mesh-backed chair provide adequate lumbar support?
Like its mesh-backed predecessor, Liberty, the Diffrient World chair uses Form-Sensing Mesh Technology to provide perfect lumbar support for everyone automatically - without the need for manual adjustments or external lumbar devices. With Diffrient World, three panels of non-stretch mesh are sewn together to create a contoured shape optimized for the human back, creating ultimate body-hugging support.

6. Why are there no levers or controls under the seat of the Diffrient World chair?
The Diffrient World chair is the ultimate user-friendly task chair. It features just two manual controls, for seat height and seat depth. All other controls are intuitive, so there is no need for levers and other controls under the seat.
